Frequently Asked Questions
(all of these are actual questions we've received.  Some have been asked hundreds of times, others only once.  We include some because they're funny.)

> How will the guide be sent to me?

Instantly after payment an email is sent containing a password to the Member Login page where you'll be able to download your guide.  Depending on how fast your email server is, this can take from 30 seconds to an hour.  Most people get them within 5 minutes.  The guide will be in Adobe Acrobat format.

> What is Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format?

Adobe Reader is a free program that allows you to read high-quality text, including acrobat files.
Download it here:

> How will updates be sent to me?

Just log-in to the members area periodically and check for updates.  We have the date of the last update next to each guide.  We will send out emails informing customers of major updates, just incase you forget to check back here.  If you'd rather not be emailed about updates, let us know and we'll take you off our list.

> Is my email going to get spammed if I buy from you guys?

No.  Your email is kept private.  The only time we will email you is to inform you that a guide you purchased was updated.

> How often is the guide updated?

For the Everquest guides, especially EQ Underground, about every month or so.  Mostly because the offsets change, but we also get new info we like to add, and we take out the old (nerfed) stuff regularly so you don't waste your time with outdated cheats.

> When will the guide be sent?

You should receive a password instantly.  If your email server is slow, it could take up to an hour.

> It's been 24 hours and I haven't received my login and password.

Well email us already and lets get this problem fixed!   If you can, include your last name (the one you used with paypal) or your transaction ID to speed things up.  The problem could be because the email address you have for paypal is one you no longer use, or maybe our email got put in your Junk mail folder.  Either way, we'll get things worked out and you'll get your guide.

> I have already purchased one guide, does your system allow for more purchases from the same account?

Yes, your account will be updated giving you access to the other guides you purchase.

> Can I share my password with friends?

Posting the guide or your password publicly is illegal and against our copyright.  We have an automated IP check that will delete your account if you log in from a certain number of IPs during the day, or you have an unusual amount of logins.  Make sure you choose a password nobody will guess so you can keep your account!

> If I use the cheats and bugs that you say are safe,
> will I not get my account banned? This info sounds
> very fun and interesting! If most things you say
> are true and safe then these guides are worth their
> price.

We use the cheats without getting banned, but we understand the paranoia around them and how precious an Everquest account can be to someone.  That's why we dedicate an entire section on how to use them without getting caught. The section goes into technical detail on how Verant can detect you using them, but the most common advice is pretty simple: don't tell anyone! Most people get banned because they brag or show-off.

> Will I be banned for using Everquest Emulated?

No.  The emulators have nothing to do with Sony servers, so there's no way for them to find out.

> Cna I take items from the emulators and bring them to normal servers?

No.  They are in no way connected to Sony or official servers.  You also can't move your actual character from normal servers to the emulators, but you can re-create your character easily, just by typing in some commands to make them the same level, same skill level, same name and surname, same items, same horse, and so on.

> hello i have a everquest stargate sst i need to find out how to add channels to it can you help.

Hello?

> Do I have to pay every month for EQ Underground or is this a one time deal?

Updates are free.  Why do we not charge a subscription?  Why do we bother updating if we don't charge?  Our motivation for updating is so that we continue to sell the guides.  The more up-to-date, the more people are interested in buying.  Plus it makes us stand out, since every other Everquest guide has already covered the "amazing" secret of selling Rallic packs or doing the Trackanon's Teeth cycle.

> hehe, How do i know ur not a pack of Gm's who are
> trying to catch people when using cheats cause u
> know thier names

Because GMs don't need to do that - remember that time you went to the dentist and they did a little drilling? They were implanting a microphone in your molar.  They also have cameras hidden in your monitor.  And those black helicopters, and the mysterious disemboweled cattle?  VERANT!   Verant is always watching!

Seriously though, we are not connected with Verant or SOE in any way.  We refuse to sell guides to Sony employees.  We do not give out email addresses or names.  Your privacy is respected.

> I've read other Everquest guides and they suck.  How do I know yours will do what it says?

You can check our free section, or you can to take our word.  But we feel your pain, we've seen the other guides, and that's the biggest reason we started UndergroundGuides.com - we wanted to write guides that were worth paying for.  Aside from the compliments, the biggest showing of customer satisfaction is watching how many people buy one of our guides, and then come back and buy another one a couple days later.  A returning customer is the biggest compliment we can receive, and a good business model to boot.
